The Night Before

Well, tonight is my last night as the franchise operator for the Blue Ash GNC store. It's a bittersweet time. This was my favorite of all the stores. I enjoyed working with these customers better than any others. It's amazing how the clientele varied from one versus another. But don't get me wrong, I'm glad to have this chapter behind me. The stores have been one headache after another and mostly brought on by the corporate entity. I had to laugh two days ago about an email I received from corporate GNC. I told Ken it was proof that we should get out of this business. Are you ready for this brilliant idea? A platinum gold card. Just think about it. Say it out load. It's ridiculous. Our GOLD CARD members can now receive a platinum 20th anniversary edition gold card. The whole concept is absurd. Especially since it offers NO other benefits. It's just silver -- oh, I stand corrected -- it's platinum in color instead of gold. Great marketing. And yes, in case you are wondering, you can blame GNC for beginning the "card" madness that is splitting the seams in your wallet today.
